Thank you to everyone for making the 2019 Lidstone Kyusha Memorial Taikai held at The ARK Walworth Academy Sports Centre on Saturday October 12 a wonderful event! We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.
It was delightful to see more than 40 kendoka proudly representing their dojos including those from Edinburgh, Shin-Sei, Northumbria Kendo Club, Mumeishi, Tora, London Kenyukai, Nenriki, British Army, Brighton Kendo Club, UCL, Imperial, KCL, Tsubaki, Ichi Byoshi, Kagami Shin and Tsurugi Bashi Kendo Kai.
Our warmest thanks to the referees and volunteers.

This year’s taikai
The day began with shiai geiko in groups – each group guided by one or two senior kendoka per group. This was an informal way to give the competitors more experience of shiai before the actual competition.
In the afternoon, participants from various clubs competed in a well-fought and spirited contest.
The prizes were presented by seniors, including the British Kendo Association Kendo Bucho, and Mrs Morioka, a first generation Nenriki member, who had the privilege of training with Mr R. A. Lidstone.
Thank you to all our friends, old and new, for your continuing support. Until next year!
